Mission Statement

The Living Sober Residence “Tied for Second” is a housing community for living sober. This is the level of care where you are transitioned to–living in a safe and sober environment, focused on getting a job and or education and maintaining your sobriety. We are a recovery-oriented transitory residence to help you get back into the community, to successfully fulfill your goals, earn a living wage and work towards fully independent living sober.

Tied for Second provides Sober Living for male and female residents throughout the community. Residents abide by House Rules and live in accord/community with other residents within the home.

Basic Principles:

A sober living home is a safe, substance-free residency for people in recovery.

Sober living homes act as the bridge between a drug treatment and/or corrections facility and the “real world.” They facilitate the transition back into the mainstream community, and support independent, healthy living in a person’s early recovery.

The goal of sober housing is to separate users from their previous, substance-occupied environment, and provide them with a safe and supportive place to heal, away from outside pressures.

Residents are required to continue with treatment if applicable and attend face to face support meetings in the community. Residents are also encouraged to commit to community service and support recovery events within the local community.

To remain a resident, one must comply with house rules, including maintaining abstinence, covering fees, participating in chores and attending all house meetings.
